Madrinas is a unique organization dedicated to the leadership development and advancement of Latina professionals. We are committed to celebrating our rich Latino culture. Through the organization we provide mentorship, role models, and we leverage our knowledge and experience to help shape the future of the growing pool of talented professional, Latina women.
Our members are supported through skill-building programs, networking, and mentoring opportunities, in person and virtual forums. Our distinguished “Conversation with Experts" are monthly programs that feature a variety of expert presenters who address key issues, trends, and topics impacting Latinas in the workplace and at home.

Dr. Damary M. Bonilla-Rodriguez is a national leading authority on
leadership development, especially as it pertains to diversity and
inclusion. She delivers keynote addresses and presentations drawing upon
her experience from roles in the non-profit, private, and government sectors,
as well as her doctoral research. Her research about Latina leadership
in the United States has served as the foundation for events, conference
sessions, publications, and content development - to address the urgency of
leadership development for a fast growing sessions, publications, and content development - to address the urgency of leadership development for a fast growing population and create a pipeline of diverse leaders.
In her current role at Girls Incorporated, an organization that inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold,SM she leads the organization's national Latina Initiative and diversity efforts; she is a founding member of the Values and Diversity & Inclusion committees. She is also a Faculty Member in a dynamic team of less than a dozen national leadership experts at the ELLA Leadership Institute, an organization that aims “to advance the lives and careers of women through innovative programs, events and connection to a supportive network of exceptional women.”
Dr. Bonilla-Rodriguez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Social Work from the College of New Rochelle where she received the College President’s Medal, graduated with Departmental Honors, and was awarded the Sigma Delta Pi Spanish Award. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Communications and a Specialized Certification in Corporate Communications, both from the College of New Rochelle. Personal endeavors of overcoming statistics and accessing higher education, led her to earn a Doctorate in Education focusing on Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College.
Dr. Bonilla-Rodriguez is a contributor to the Huffington Post, has been featured on NBC Latino’s “Latina Leaders” series and Proud to be Latina’s “Empowered Latinas” series, for her work around Latina leadership. She is on the Board of ALPFA Philadelphia and the Advisory Board for SciGirls. Past Board and Advisory Board roles include: The National Council for Research on Women, The National Science Foundation, East Los High, Center for Disease Control HIV/AIDS Initiative for African-American & Latinas, and Latina PAC. She is also a member of several professional organizations.
