Madrinas is a unique organization dedicated to the leadership development and advancement of Latina professionals. We are committed to celebrating our rich Latino culture. Through the organization we provide mentorship, role models, and we leverage our knowledge and experience to help shape the future of the growing pool of talented professional, Latina women.  

Our members are supported through skill-building programs, networking, and mentoring opportunities, in person and virtual forums. Our distinguished “Conversation with Experts" are monthly programs that feature a variety of expert presenters who address key issues, trends, and topics impacting Latinas in the workplace and at home.

Tanya Odom:
“Mindfulness at Work”

Tanya M. Odom, is a highly regarded consultant, coach, facilitator, teacher, writer, and thought leader.

She has worked globally as a consultant and facilitator focusing on areas including: Inclusive Leadership, Innovation and Creativity, Diversity and Inclusion, Teambuilding, Mindfulness, Coaching, Conflict Management, Educational Equity, Girls’ Leadership Development, and Youth Engagement.

Tanya’s unique portfolio career has allowed her to work in the education, private sector/corporate, not-for-profit/NGO, law enforcement, and university/college arenas.

She is the co-author of "Evaluation in the Field of Education for Democracy, Human Rights and Tolerance.” Tanya is a blogger with the Huffington Post, where she has written posts about leadership, self-compassion, and mindfulness.

Tanya was named by Diversity Best Practices as “One of the Five Diversity Thought Leaders to Follow on Twitter.”

Trained as a coach by the Center for Creative Leadership and she is certified in the Hay Group’s Emotional and Social Competency Inventory. Tanya has also been trained in the Difficult Conversations methodology at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.

Ms. Odom has traveled extensively, and has both lived and worked abroad. Tanya has lived and/or worked in more than 25 countries. She is fluent in Spanish.
