Madrinas is a unique organization dedicated to the leadership development and advancement of Latina professionals. We are committed to celebrating our rich Latino culture. Through the organization we provide mentorship, role models, and we leverage our knowledge and experience to help shape the future of the growing pool of talented professional, Latina women.
Our members are supported through skill-building programs, networking, and mentoring opportunities, in person and virtual forums. Our distinguished “Conversation with Experts" are monthly programs that feature a variety of expert presenters who address key issues, trends, and topics impacting Latinas in the workplace and at home.

Betsy Silva serves as the Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement for Boehringer Ingelheim. She is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the overall vision and execution of the company’s US diversity and inclusion strategy, including external relationships and partnerships and business resource groups. Betsy has more than 20 years of senior-level operations, talent management and global diversity experience. She has served as Senior Director of Diversity for Sodexo with responsibility for learning, employee business resource groups, client consulting in North America and for the Diversity and Inclusion strategy in Central, South and Latin America.
She has also served as the Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and the Global Vice President of Diversity for American Express . Betsy is a former Board Member of the Winston-Salem, North Carolina Urban League and a commissioner for the Winston-Salem, North Carolina Human Relations Commission. She has served as Chair of the Hispanic League of the Piedmont Triad and is a co-founder of the Hispanic League. Betsy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Inter-American University in Puerto Rico. She earned a Leadership Coaching certification from Georgetown University and was a 2005 National Hispana Leadership Institute Fellow at Harvard University.
